CFP Special Issue of Theatre Notebook: ‘Celebration’ in Theatre and Performance Research
A supportive group for postgraduates, new scholars, practitioners, and ECRs who are interested in theatre, performance, theatre history and historiography.
The Society for Theatre Research’s New Researchers’ Network is made up of a supportive group of postgraduates, new scholars, practitioners, artists and early career academics who have interests in theatre and performance, theatre history and theatre historiography. The New Researchers’ Network is comprised of individuals from a variety of academic disciplines including Theatre and Performance Studies, History, History of Art, English Literature and Modern Foreign Languages, as well as those from the theatre profession.
The New Researchers’ Network meet throughout the year for a series of study days, lectures, archive visits, theatre tours and social dinners. The calendar of events is designed to encourage members to share knowledge and ideas, provoke discussions and debate, and develop a network of helpful and supportive contacts. Members of the New Researchers’ Network are also encouraged to participate in activities run by the Society for Theatre Research, which include the annual lecture series, the Poel Workshops, the Research Awards and theatre-related outings. Finally, the New Researchers’ Network provides opportunities for new researchers to present their current research in a more formal setting, at the annual symposium, which usually coincides with the STR’s Annual General Meeting.
The Network enthusiastically welcomes new members, regardless of age or academic level and would be pleased to hear from any new researchers who share our interests. To become a member of the New Researchers’ Network you must be a member of the Society for Theatre Research – see the Join Us page for details. For further information you can contact us at nrn@str.org.uk.
