POSTPONED Re-staging Inconvenient British Histories

PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, THE LECTURE WILL NOT TAKE PLACE ON THIS DATE.

WE HOPE TO RE-SCHEDULE IT IN THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.

Thank you for your interest in the Society for Theatre Research.

It’s said that history is written by the victors – but theatre, with its emotive power, can be a
vehicle for countering these ‘official’ narratives. Directors and creatives will discuss how
theatre questions the treatment of women in UK asylum-seekers centres or the re-
emergence of poverty rivalling Mayhew’s Victorian London.
