London Theatre Seminar 2024

The London Theatre Seminar is an inter-collegiate seminar hosted by the Centre for Contemporary Theatre and attracts participants from all theatre departments in London. The seminar is a public forum for the development of theatre and performance scholarship and its inter-collegiate and collaborative aspects are central to the productively speculative nature of its enquiry.

The Centre for Contemporary Theatre are pleased to announce London Theatre Seminar’s forthcoming 2024 schedule, which will feature a range of provocative and challenging talks, panels, and roundtables, across disciplines. No need to book for any events.

This year’s London Theatre Seminar series takes place at Birkbeck, University of London. Click here for a map to the Birkbeck, University of London campus locations. Malet Street is location 1 and Gordon Square is location 13 on the map. Birkbeck Central is on Malet street in the former Student Central/ULU building.

For the first seminar of 2024, we are delighted to kick off with our postgraduate panel, featuring Niya B and Jack Elliott.

Thursday 18 January, 6.30-8.30 (Birkbeck Central, BCB 206): Niya B (Kingston University) and Jack Elliott (Birkbeck University).

Thursday 29 February, 6.30-8.30pm (Room tbc): Savannah Whaley (Independent Scholar).

Thursday 21 March , 6.30-8.30pm (Room tbc): María Estrada-Fuentes (Royal Holloway University of London).

Thursday 23 May, 6.30-8.30pm (Room tbc): Sita Balani (Queen Mary University of London) and Bryony White (Warwick University) – interdisciplinary panel.
