Synge Summer School 2012

28th June – 1st July 2012,
Rathdrum, Wicklow

A limited number of places are still available for the 2012 Synge Summer School for Irish Drama. This year’s School features lectures on many Irish dramatists (Friel, Beckett, Tom Murphy, Shaw – and, of course, Synge), a public interview with Louise Lowe (winner of the Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Production in 2011), a new play by Fishamble Theatre company, and a reading by Paul Murray, author of Skippy Dies. Director of the School is Patrick Lonergan, whose book Theatre and Globalization: Irish Drama in the Celtic Tiger Era won the STR 2009 Theatre Book Prize.
