History Plays and Why We Love Them (IN-PERSON BOOKINGS)

Eminent playwright April De Angelis will take us on a whirl through history plays she has written and a consideration of
history plays that have shaped theatre.
About the speaker
April has had plays produced by the NT, RSC, Royal Court, Hampstead, Young Vic, Old Vic, Stratford East, Orange Tree and Jermyn Street Theatres and in the West End. She has also written librettos including Flight and Uprising, both for Glyndebourne Opera. Flight received an Ivor Award and the Royal Philharmonic Society Award 2026.

STR lectures are free and open to the public. You don’t have to be a member, but it is essential to book to let us know if you wish to attend in person. Lectures are presented in London and timings are GMT.
