The National Theatre are delighted to have opened a new exhibition: The Greeks: Radical Reinvention, alongside the first show of their Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham’s tenure, Bacchae. In this exhibition, they explore how the National Theatre has staged some of these powerful and still relevant, plays. Looking at four essential aspects of ancient Greek drama – sound, space, dance, and community – we can see the creativity and authenticity in how these plays have been reinvented for modern audiences. Dr Lucy Jackson has curated the exhibition in collaboration with the NT Archive.
