European Historic Theatres Day – Free Lecture 25th October

THE EUROPEAN ROUTE OF HISTORIC THEATRES  

Annual Talk to celebrate PERSPECTIV’s European Historic Theatres Day organised by the Frank Matcham Society in conjunction with the V&A Museum, London. 

Illustrated talk by Mark Fox  

Saturday 25 October 2025 at 2pm 

Chair of The Frank Matcham Society and President of PERSPECTIV, Mark Fox will explain the genesis of the European Route of Historic Theatres, its development with the help of European Funding, current status and future plans. With 120 theatres across 30 countries initially included not all venues can be included in an hour long talk but some of the best and most historic will definitely be on the menu.

The Lydia and Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre, Victoria and Albert Museum (The Sackler Courtyard entrance), Exhibition Road, South Kensington, SW7 2RL.  

 (There is ramp and lift access) 

This is a Free Event, and open to all, but do please book in advance from Ticketsource to help with planning (search for Frank Matcham Society).

 The 2pm time slot will give members plenty of time before or after to visit the exhibitions including Enthoven Unboxed: 100 Years of Collecting Performance.
