CNCS Research Showcase and Book Launch: Stock Pieces: British Repertory Theatre, 1760–1830 by Susan Valladares

STR members are warmly invited to join us at Durham University’s Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC116) or online via Teams, on Wednesday 19 March 2025, for a research showcase to celebrate the launch of Susan Valladares’s new book, Stock Pieces: British Repertory Theatre, 1760–1830 (Liverpool University Press). The research showcase welcomes four scholars specialising in theatre and performance during the long nineteenth century: it seeks to explore the range of approaches to the field, identify further avenues for future research, and to invite open discussion through Q&As.

You are welcome to attend either or both part(s) of the programme, as you prefer.

Guest Speakers:

  • Dr Patricia Smyth, University of Exeter
  • Dr Kate Newey, Professor of Theatre History, University of Exeter
  • Professor Catherine Hindson, University of Bristol
  • Dr Caroline Radcliffe, Reader in Drama and Performance, University of Birmingham
