Artschain set up a new platform for theatre practitioners

ArtsChain is an informal network of participatory arts, community arts and socially engaged practitioners, based in the North of England. Its 90 members include freelance individuals and staff from arts organisations, some of whom are National Portfolio Organisations and some of whom are not. It meets monthly to discuss issues and share information and advice.

Artschain have decided to set up a You-Tube channel to help us share and platform your stories and your work. They would love you to help us populate the video channel with content which demonstrates participatory arts work in practice and tells stories of change and growth. The channel aims to give audiences a real sense of the breadth, depth, reach and impact of the work of the participatory arts sector, which will support their advocacy work. If you’d like to submit a video for inclusion on the channel, please read the submission guidelines downloadable here.

Artschain have a major meeting with Arts Council England soon to discuss support measures for the sector so ideally they would like to have some content on the channel by then to signpost them to. They would appreciate if you could send them your videos by 23rd August. This will be the first call for content but they will have other calls after the meeting with ACE.

The Youtube channel will be accessed via a link on the Artschain.co.uk webpage. Initially Artschain will run it for six months and see if it is engaging audiences and people find it a useful advocacy tool.

Survey: Please complete! If you haven’t already done so, please fill in the Artschain short survey  – they really need to know more about what organisations and individual practitioners are experiencing and need for the future. If you can do this before this Friday, 14th August that would be great.
